Many of you will recognize this for what it is; a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe. Who doesn't love cookies, right? But we all know that it takes multiple ingredients to make a single cookie. You can't eat just the vanilla, or just the flour, or even just the chocolate. You have to put it all together.

But we don't like doing that with life.

We like to live in only one ingredient of life. Have you ever wished for just good things in life? Haven't we all. But have you ever met what I call a circus peanut person? These people are so sweet they make you sick. They live only in the sugar. These will never help anyone because they never hurt. You can't help someone who is hurting if you've never hurt.

Have you ever tasted vanilla? It smells amazing, but it is actually extremely bitter. The people who are angry, bitter, and hurt with life are the cynical people who never see good in life. They will only pull people down with them.

Philippians 4:5--
"Let your moderation be known unto all men."

I Corinthians 9:22--
"I am made all things to all men."

The concept is clear in these verses: we have to be balanced. We need every ingredient in life to be able to point other people to Christ. We like to live in only one ingredient at a time, but we need to balance them all out so we become the perfect cookie for Christ. No one wants a single ingredient, but everyone wants the cookie hot out of the oven. Let God use events in your life to make you a tasty cookie for Him.
